I see this on the SCV page:

April 30, 550 present and absent, with Twentieth, formed main part of Gen. John Adams' command at Jackson. May 3, when troops were being sent toward the river, Adams had remaining only the Fourteenth, about 350 men.

Looks like the Fourteenth mounted 200 men, the remaining 350 were left to defend Jackson.
