Thank you so much! This cleared up several questions. There are head stones for him and my g/g/g/grandfather on my maternal side (SGT S.O. McBryde D Co. 7th MIss. Cav; MIA at Colliersville) in Kaufman TX. I always wondered about that since the family did not move there until after the war. I always believed them to be just headstones. You said Henry H. was in the North Corolina Hospital in Richmond Virginia? Was that the name of the hospital or was this a regimintal hospital? I know there was a huge CSA hospital there, forgot the name, was this a section of it?

I have another g/g/g/uncle James Elder Turner who is listed in D Co. as well, then I looked at Henry H. in the roster after he transferred to the infantry and there is a J.E. Turner listed there also so I guess he transferred as well? I wonder if he was a POW also since things went so bad at Big Black?
