Thank you so much. I am new to this board and have not ordered the records of these men yet. I will do so imediately. Capt. L.D. Fletcher is my actual ancestor and I have not ever been able to determine if he served anywhere after he was not re-elected. From what you posted apparently he did not. I have read Jess McLeans book on the 13th but it did not have much info re L.D. after the election. I actually own approximately 200 acres L.D. owned south of Kosciusko in Attala County that still includes the house he built sometime after the war where my grandfather was born in the front room. I have known very little about James and Isaiah till lately and was looking for any knowledgeable posters here who might have unpublished or hard to aquire information about this brigade and regiment's history, battles, photos, maps, or any of my relatives. I would like to make a compilation if anyone has anything they would not mind sharing. I also recently found Dick Stanley's 13th MS website and have been enjoying it. I know one poster above mentioned some news articles but I didn't know how to access them.
I know Isaiah Fletcher was buried with other Attala men near the NW corner of the Sherfy farm. At least one Co. I man was disinterred in 1872 in box 279 in this same area and I wondered if there was any way to find the grave of Isaiah along with more detail of how and where he and the others were killed and buried along with more detail on James Fletcher's wounding and capture?
I recently discovered another relative who served in the 11th MS(Perrin's) Cavalry Co. C named Ephraim Dicken(s) that I plan to research also. Thanks again!
