Bob,
William Weaver Turner was from the Atlanta area. He originally enlisted in the
4th Ga Inf. Discharged in early 1862 for "disability". He reenlisted in the 41st
in Aug. 1862. Became Colorbearer of the Regiment in Oct 1862. Wounded at
Missionary Ridge in Nov. 1863. In spring of 1864 was assigned to QM Dept.
He survived the war and apparently settled in LaGrange, Ga.
His memoirs and papers are housed at the Troup County Archives in LaGrange.
