Re: 5th Sgt. James Milton Brister

These two men are constantly confused because their first initial is "J". Do not know of their relationship, but am certain that they were related.

From the "Lest We Forget" Roster of the 7th Mississippi:

J. Milton Brister Capt. Co. B 7th Mississippi was killed at Chickamauga September 20, 1863. He is buried at Marietta Confederate cemetery.

John O. Brister, Private Co. B 7th Misissippi died of wounds in GA Atlanta ”Works” Chattahoochee River 7-14-64 (See John Buster)

The following is a letter from John Brister to Thomas Price in 1861 from the Price family letters compiled by Mis Bonnie Loe Goles and published by T. Anna Fuller. The letter and index notes are included in my unpublished manuscript, "Lest We Forget-The Immortal 7th Mississippi":
[This letter was written on the back of a "Letter Nov. 8, 1861 Pas Chrischan [Pass Christian, MS] from William Price Co. B to his brother Thomas Price:
