Ashcraft for 3 years, wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga, frecorded October 3, 1863 on the Medal of honor for the Battle of Murfeesborourloughed from hospital Atlanta, October 4, 1863 for 30 days, paid October 21, 1863, paid for Commutation of Rations December 22, 1863, wounded July 28, 1864 and sent to hospital, Macon, Georgia, no further records

James L. Anderson, 19 year old Farmer, Private, Captain William C. Bromley's Company (Town Creek Riflemen), 2nd Regiment Mississippi Volunteers,* enrolled for active service February 14, 1861 at Richmond, Miss. by Capt. Bromley for 12 months, wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg, wounded at Gaines Farm , admitted Howards Grove Hospital, Richmond, Va. June 13, 1864, admitted to Receiving & Wayside Hospital, Richmond, Va. July 3, 1864, transferred the next day to Stuart Hospital, Richmond, gunshot wound, furloughed for 30 days July 14, killed in action August 19, 1864 on the Weldon Rail Road near Petersburg, Va.

Note: His file consists of 46 cards, there is some conflict on the dates and duration of his July, 1864 furlough from the hospital
