I'm currently reading Also For Glory - The Pettigrew Trimble Charge at Gettysburg. I learned about Don Ernsberger's book from this site when I asked about my ancestor Capt. George Bird. We can only begin to imagine what these men went through; Don does a great job of leading us in their foot steps. I can recommend the book to all.

The reason for this post is to ask if anyone from Carroll County, or with ties to the 11th Mississippi, have any photos that may show George Bird. I do have a picture of his sister Mary, my gg grandmother and would very much like a picture of George. He was sheriff of Carroll Co. before the war and if anyone has contacts with anyone from county goverment, I would welcome any contact information.
