I have all the data on the other regimentt's of Davis' Brigade for this period and those regiment's losses were exstensive, so, while it's not implausable that the 42nd lost so few men, it seems unlikely. I did come up with a few other names from looking through the records of the spotsylvania confederate cemetery and other places.
pvt. Osborne R Heath (co.A), pvt. Andrew J Haynes (co.B), and pvt. David J Cole (co.F). Probably thats not the end of it. I'll keep searching. Hopefully, someone will publish a book on the 42nd one day.
