The Mississippi in the Civil War Message Board

Mississippi Minute Men

Hello all!

I would like to say that I have been reading various posts here lately and find that this is a very informative and friendly message board! I was hoping to get some help here for some research that I am doing, mainly toward putting on a Living History event in Grenada, MS in March of next year. I was wondering if any one here has any letters that they could share with me (or diaries, etc.) from any member of the Mississippi Minute Men, the ones who were called out in the summer of 1862. I would gladly pay postage for hard copies or scanned in/emailed copies would be fine too. I am looking for any good specific information about their daily lives, dress (mostly civilian, I believe) and arms and equipment (again, mostly civilian I believe and/or second or third class arms). I believe I have seen some posts here that alluded to such letters being out there. I have searched through the CSRs for a lot of these men and checked with MDAH as well. There is just not a lot of detailed info out there!

Any help would be appreciated!
