Name should be Borchers, not Brochers. He enrolled in the 67th Pennsylvania Regt as 1st Lieutenant in one company, and was promoted captain of another. One source says the two companies were "B" and "C" in that order; another has it as "C" and "B", in that order.
The regiment saw its first action at Winchester VA, June 13-15, 1863, so the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Sharpsburg MD is not meaningful. All but seventy-five members of this regiment surrendered and were imprisoned in Richmond. Lyman Borchers appears on a list of POWs at Richmond here --

In 1870 Lyman T Borchers was a lumberman living in Wayne County PA. His widow Sarah applied for a pension in his name.
