I have a photo of my g.grandfather's younger brother (seated waist-up photo) in a presumedly Mississippi uniform. He enlisted in the 5th MS Infantry in August 1861 and served til his death at Shiloh on April 6th, 1862 (was Sergeant at the time but no rank insignia is apparent on the jacket)... so the uniform was an early Mississippi type) circular belt buckle, buttoned up-to-neck jacket w/ shiny brass buttons, jacket had stand-up color around neck, wide belt worn around the waist of the chaket that extended well below the belt line.
