Re: Burial of the dead from the 1st battle of Fran

Tim, would like to ask your help. Some years ago I found a letter from a ggg aunt to my grandmother ref. her application for the UDC; about 1910. It mentioned among others, her g uncle Geo. Bird who was KIA in July 3rd , with the 11th MS, at Gettysburg. It also mentioned either a Hughston or a Hemphill killed at Franklin, TN. She was a Hughston and her mother was a Hemphill. I can't find the letter but it's here somewhere. Do you have any records of either a Hemphill or Hughston , from a MS unit, killed at Franklin? Will appreciate your help.

Thanks, Ed Rea
