Thanks for your info. Yes I saw his parole order which was signed/granted when Vicksburg surrendered in 1863. He agreed not to fight against the U.S. again but according to the records he was re-captured with his unit, 1st Regiment Miss Light Artillery, Company D, at Ft. Blakely, AL in 1865. If the Federal army knew he violated his parole granted at Vicksburg, would he have been prosecuted for violation of parole then not released/sent to a prison? I didn't know about the other J.A. Wynn info you found. Very interesting. There are gaps in the records of what he was doing between his parole from Vicksburg then his capture at Blakely.
