Oath of Allegiance

How long after Lee's surrender did Confederate soldiers continue to take the Oath of Allegiance? I have one from "Office Provost Marshal, Charlotte NC" dated 23rd 'illegible' 1865 actually signed by J.J. Ashcraft, private, Co. H, 19th South Carolina Infantry.

Joseph had been released for exchange from Camp Morton IN March 15, 1865, sent to Richmond, admitted to General Hospital #9 on March 22 and transferred to Jackson Hospital March 24.

The copy of this oath is an individual one and not like the ones in service record files where a group of soldiers raised their hands at once and took the oath and never actually signed their names.

I appreciate anyone's insight on this!
