Re: A.B. Tilley 54 North Carolina Infantry

Based on their places of enlistment, I would doubt that the A. B. Tilley of the 54th North Carolina is the same man. He was admitted to Receiving and Wayside Hospital, General Hospital No. 9, Richmond, Virginia, June 7, 1864. His companies October 1864 muster records him as "Absent, on sick leave (wounded)"

The Aaron B. Tilley, age 17, of the 2nd North Carolina may have been Aaron Burwell's, age 46, son.

You may obtain their service record files by the service noted in the enclosed red box above. Burwell's certificate of disability is one page in length, not able to read on-line.
