Re: Woodard Brothers 64th North Carolina Infantry

I have evidence in "Tennesseans in the Civil War" and the National Archives Microfilm that James Woodward (note second w) enlisted in the 26th TN INF and was transferred to the 64th NC INF by order of Gen. Kirby Smith.

Does anyone have specific information that he was a North Carolina native?

I know it was rare to be transferred between states but there is evidence it occurred here.
