Okay. The battle in 1862 was on May 15, a Thursday.
Five Federal naval vessels, including Monitor, moved up the James River towards Richmond. now that the Merrimack had been eliminated.
At Drewery's Bluff. on ths South side of the river about 8 miles below Richmond, Southern batteries met the Federal invasion.
The guns at Fort Darling dueled with the federal gunboats for four hours.
The Federal gunboats could not elevate their guns sufficiently; Monitor drew too much water.Galena was struck 18 times and was heavily damaged.
The Federal gunboats withdrew.

July 10, 1862
Federals reconned from Harrison's Landing on the James to White Oak Swamp and fought a skirmish.

July 11, 1862
Another recon from Harrison's Landing to Charles City Courthouse.
