Alexander Balus West

I am trying to locate the burial site of my 2nd great grandfather, Alexander Balus West, who was killed in the battle of Winchester (probably the Third Battle of Winchester) on 19 Sep 1864. He was a corporal in the 53rd NC Infantry Regiment, Company K. He had been wounded in the Battle at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863, and spent time at the Wayside Hospital in Richmond. Where were the killed-in-action soldiers buried after the Battle at Winchester on Sept. 19, 1864? I have researched (on-line) the Civil War cemeteries in the Winchester area but have not been able to locate him. Thanks for any information.
