Thanks. I'll try to locate this document. After reading some on-line articles, I found that only 12 men from the 53rd NC Infantry Regiment died at Winchester on 19 Sep 1864. Also, I read that many were buried where they fell. I suspect that my 2nd great grandfather may be buried in an unmarked grave.
