The North Carolina in the Civil War Message Board

re: 1st NC infantry

Hello,

I was hoping someone out there could help me fill in the blanks regarding certain individuals who served in the 1st North Carolina Infantry (Steuart's brigade). I have conflicting information regarding Peter G Foust and Austin E Isley of company E. I'd like to know if they were infact killed at Spotsylvania in 1864.
Also, a W. Wilkins of co.F and an A. Williams of co.G are listed on the death roster of the Gordonsville Receiving hospital as having died in may of 1864. I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on their identities aswell as tell me if they were battle casualties or if they died of disease. I cannot find a roster of this regiment online, and I am unable to access the civil war soldier and sailor system from China where I will be working for the next 10 months, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Matt
