Spring Hill

Staying true to fold in my "any book worth reading is worth reading twice " I am revisiting the Last Hurrah of the Confederacy by Wiley Sword.

I have more sympathy for Hood this go round but I ran into a question.

The fact that Generals like Brown who would not attack without orders even when the advantage was theirs. was this a flaw in the leadership of that particular General, or wa it part of Hood's program that no one should act without his approval.

Wiley Sword blames Hood for being away from he front too long. But Hood Blames Brown and Cheatham for the Lost Initiative.

Any Thoughts?
