Yes, he definetly does a good job on Hood's Character. That was what affected me the first time. But to truly read a book you need to read it two or three times because you miss things.
Also, I have had those days when a couple of sleeping pills would have helped if I had possessed them. Then you add the pain of a most recent amputation and riding all day on horse back. Hood had to be wore out that night and sleep demanded his attention more than the War.
