"but just like today blaming the government for every evil is wrong and inaccurate"

Bravo!!!

And this Idea that Boothe was a southern agent is highly suspect when compared to all the available documents.

There are any number possible Conspiracy theroy connections which can be surmized, including the Catholic Church connection, from all of the others who attempted to assinate other officials the same night as Lincoln was assinated. Lincoln was not the sole target and Boothe acted in conjunction with others. remember there were five other conspirators who were hanged for their involvement in those actions that night. Doesn't anybody remember Mary Surrate? There is not one shread of creditable evidence that Boothe, or the Surrates, acted on orders from Richmond.

Yet it is automatically ASSUMED that Boothe was working for the Southern Government.

There were several attempts and threatened attempts on Lincolns life long before Boothe ever came on the scene. Even on Lincolns trip from Illinois to Washington DC in 1861 to be sworen into Office as President, he had to travel undercover and in secret guarded by none other than Gen. Winfield Scott and Elisha Washburne.

In 1862 Lincoln had his hat shot of the top of his head by a hidden sniper while he was on a buggy ride outside of Washington. So Lincoln had his enemies in the north also. And some believe that there were a couple in Lincoln own cabinet itself.
