As far as I know no one has determined exactly why Booth shot Lincoln, it is only speculation. The only real known intent was to kidnap Lincoln to swap for 10,000 Confederate soldiers. After Lee surrendered the plan changed to assassination. Do you have any new information on Booth's mind set, why did he kill Lincoln?
