dear just his daughter, that's a great story too. Know what you mean about the not talking about the stories. One time, our uncle mentioned one that was so sad, and so tragically unnecessary. This small group of GI's had just gone into a small German town and were approached by a group of children. The GI's gave them candy, and while they were doing so, one of the children produced a knife and killed one of the Americans, who became so enraged that they ran down all the kids and killed them with the DUKW the Americans were riding in.

When you got stuff like that poulating your memory, it's little wonder the old guys don't like to talk about what happened.
