Re: A Soldier Died Today
In Response To: Re: A Soldier Died Today ()

During three years in Washington while Kennedy was President, I photographed several funerals at Arlington, and three Memorial Day ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. Sometimes it got kind of hard to see through my viewfinder. If things like that don't move you, I feel sorry for you.

July 1 I will retire from the State. I was asked what I wanted in the way of a ceremony. Having retired from the Navy, and being "piped over the side" by sideboys who were Chief Petty Officers, to the tune of the Bos'n's pipe, I decided they could not do anything to top that, so I said, "Nothing."
