I read your cites and I must say they are interesting. It is possible that Ft. Pillow happened the way the writer describes. I don't really know.
As for the other battle, I had not heard of it. Another good read. And once again it is possible that the troops were guilty of wrongdoing. Those things happen in every war it seems. Happened in both world wars and Korea and Nam. We know about the things done wrong in Iraq and probably in Afganistan. NOt really sure.
