Hi folks,

I've just removed a disgusting thread from the message boards that could've been written by "Al-Qaeda". I can tolerate a great deal, but this was way beyond the pale.

If necessary, I'll set the message board back to its moderated version, and that will be that. I have to grit my teeth many times on these sites and act as the magnanimous overseer of these discussions (BTW, that's sarcasm), but sometimes I can't help myself, I must offer something here.

I think, there is a lot to learn from the recent posting of a woman from an English-speaking country, we normally consider a strong ally. My daughter, who is a recently indoctrinated, excuse me educated, graduate of one of our state universities here in Texas, has a very liberal, and in many ways, "anti-American" view of this country. "We" the country that has defended and acted, even today, as an umbrella of protection for democracies around the world are held in utter contempt by our "so-called" friends. This woman's country, is so out there on the "loony" fringe, that they prevent American nuclear powered ships from entering their waters, when the job of our ships in the area is to protect their sovereignty. This woman, without the help of the United States, would be attempting to learn Japanese, as in their third generation of occupation, they must kneel daily to Tokyo and true "terror".

Unfortunately, we've got a country full of people, just like this woman. The self-loathing and hatred that exists in our society is a product of a "fifth column" of alternative lifestyle, amoral, incompetent jackasses, who dominate our education system, entertainment industry and the elected "bureaucracy", not democracy, that rules us.

Getting back to my daughter, she believes that if America changed its "policies" in the world, we would be loved, "Horse Feathers"! As long as the United States is THE richest superpower in the world, we will be hated by every pip-squeak, backwater, do nothing country in the world.

I'm going to stop there. I don't like becoming involved in discussions like this on the N&V message board, but as an American, proud of my country, its heritage, and the freedom that millions, even billions owe to our existence and our efforts and may I say, OUR BLOOD, I can't tolerate the mindless, uninformed and undeserved attack on this country and its people.

I hope we will devote ourselves to discussions better suited to this site and that we will find ways to honor ourselves and our allies, rather than, tear down the miracle of the United States and all its goodness.
