"Dixie" played twice, right time, right reason.

Norman, you asked this of Stan but may I say something in this regard? The playing of a song, the flying of a flag, the asking of a question, the making of a statement of opinion, the religion you subscribe to, even maybe the tooth paste you use (kidding) all have to be challenged by someone as being something bad. My point, among others, in my post about the song Dixie being played in Yankee territory without any one even raising an eyebrow, was to point out that things are not as bad nationwide as someone who only sees what is happening in his little township....or big township...whatever.

The soothsayers are always looking for a point to attack. Most of the US citizens are not worried about this but a few on both sides of any question are very vocal. Notice this on this board. Yes, there are senitivities to be exploited by anyone who feels he/she is being singled out for purnishment because of his/her race, gender, religion, regional connection, etc.

I travel this country coast to coast, border to border, the anti-Southern feelings referred to on this board does not exist to any degree near what Chickin Little says it does. But if you watch CNN, FOX, etc. and not meet us Americans, you will feel the same.

Greetings from the Colonies!
