Yes I sure did. It sure helped my mental picture. Looks like they went through part of the now golf course and to the family picnic area. Growing up in Navy Point, we had alway heard they had at least one camp there, possibly more. Some of the local books say that also but do not say just where. We never found any artifacts during our activities growing up.
The rear of the Confederate occupation of the fort was well guarded. Wish the front had been too.

Was reading the letters of Major William Morel Moxley to his wife Emily (Oh, What a Loansome Time I Had). A line stood out like a sore thumb. Sort of fits what we have discussed before. He was in the 18th Alabama. The spelling was left intact.
