Their complete names are 2nd Lt. Alexander M. Wright, and 2nd Lt. John W. Ford of the 3rd Pennslyvania Cavalry (Averell's Cavalry).

Ford enlisted on August 26, 1861. Promoted from 2d Lt., Company M; transferred to Company B, resigned March 15, 1864.

Wright enlisted on July 23, 1861. Transferred to Company K from Company B on April 18, 1862, promoted to battalion Quartermaster, resigned March 29, 1863.
