I haven't "archived" any messages for the N&V message board. For that reason, I've not added an "Archives" link to the N&V message board. In the past, the plan was to delete messages older than 90 days, as "I" have not considered this site an historical resource comparable to the state and special interest sites. Due to yours and others requests, I am no longer deleting messages and will be archiving older postings. There is no need currently to access an archive as ALL of the messages available, old and new are on this site, the current message board. The messages posted prior to October of 2006 are gone or deleted.

There is no resource in this BBS software or any other that I'm aware of, to automatically notify subscribers based on a specific word or phrase. We have had a "digest" capability in the past, to make subscribers aware of new postings on one or more message boards. We currently do not have this capability due to the security settings for my service provider, 1and1.com. To implement the digest capability in the future, I will need to move history-sites.com to a new and more expensive server.

We do have the individual search capability for the message boards and I can implement a program to search ALL of the message boards with a separate program. I've not considered the implementation of this additional software as it does no more than the online search engines. When I want to search on a specific term or phrase, I use the advanced search capabilities available through Google at http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en . Just insert history-sites.com in the domain box and in the "Find results" box use the "with all of the words", "with the exact phrase" or "with at least one of the words". You can also select date ranges to get postings from a certain time or most recent.
