Concerning Robert Shaw. As you probably already know from history and also from the wonderful movie of a few years ago,he was a man of great principle. He came from a well to do family. Died when he was just 26. Seems to be the fate of many on both sides. Although he commanded the 54th Mass.(Colored troops) he was under the command of Col. Montgomery of the 2nd So. Carolina who was an avid abolisinist from Kansas.
