Since we're talking about sick and slow running computers, I wanted to say that I'm running Norton Anti-Virus, Norton Internet Security and Norton System Works on my Desktop PC. I also have the free "Windows Defender" spyware blocker and cleaner. With all of this, I still find that a free online program at Trend Micro scans and cleans things, especially spyware, that my Norton and Windows Defender miss.

If your PC is running slow or you are worried about viruses and spyware/adware go to http://us.trendmicro.com/ and click on and scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you'll see a link for "Housecall" or just go directly to the Housecall page at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/?WT.TM_clusty_flg=7 .

Like I said, I've been shocked in the past at the amount of malicious software this program finds on my hard drive. Give it a try, if you're having problems or are just curious how well your AV or Spyware/Adware protection is working.
