Go HP. They are inexpensive and easy to use. I am a graphic artist and use mine daily with no trouble. The first one I bought a few years ago did have some kind of glitch, I really don't remember what it was. I called HP and they sent me a new one minus the cords, etc and had me ship the old one back. Total time from calling to receiving new unit.....two days. As cheap as these items are today if they give you any touble you might just as well throw it away and buy a new one. For $140 I get better scans than with an older (much older) flatbed scanner that cost close to a grand. Don't ya just love technology? They say that the average desktop computer today has more power and speed than the machines NASA used in the Apollo program.
