Hi Stan,
"Mr. Wheeler: I may be remiss, but I do not recall any regular poster who wants to excise slavery from from history. When it is brought up, we simply ask for balance. A huge percentage of Confederate soldiers did not own slaves, including my ancestors who fought in the 18th Georgia Infantry, in every major battle of the ANV. The last record I have found of my family owning slaves was in 1824. By your definition, and the sentiments I have read on the board, none of us, with one possible exception, who embraced the title, could be considered "neo-Confederates."
I share your sentiments. I have not called anyone on this board a "neo-Confederate." The question was how do I define the term. I gave a definition.
Best,
Sam.
