I was a motion picture cameraman documenting deterrant patrol operations. I remember two things especially: the depth guage was covered when I was filming, just as the speed indicator was on the USS Enterprize, CVN 65, when I covered her sea trials. The other was thinking about being so far underwater when quiet times came, and I wasn't too busy to stay focused on tasks at hand. Not exacly scary, but still...I wonder what the crew of the Hunley felt when they were submerged. Being Chief of the Boat I doubt you had much quiet time, Master Chief. Stan
