Does anyone know if there is a method whereby one could convert micro film, as used by the National Archives, onto to a computer disc?

I have three rolls of micro film from the archives that I would like very much to convert to a computer disc in order to avoid my traveling to a library and using a micro film reader.

I have a vision problem that requires me to use a very large monitor screen to read data, but if one could make the conversion from micro film to disc I would be able to enlarge the type into my computer in order that the records would be more easily transcribed.

Any information as to how to make the conversion either from a "do it your self" or a commercial site would be very helpful.

BTW, the micro film cover Confederate units which served in the Northern War of Aggression.
