First of all, my apologies for taking so long to reply. I didn't answer because I wanted this letter to sit on the board and simmer awhile and see what kind of responses it would get. Didn't get a lot did it? I would have thought anyone who had an ancestor who fought in the war, or called themselves a serious student of history would object to such a presentation. Sure wasn't much concern displayed.I guess everyone except the two of us must be satisfied with such a mis-representation of historical fact and willing to accept whatever is dictated by the NPS as truth. It is shameful. With lies like this presented as fact it is no wonder the slavery apology passed the house with a unanimous vote. I intend to write some congressmen and senators and let them know just this is a total corruption of historical fact. Like you I will remember come November.
