"You gotta be a huge fan of the Duke"

I sure am. I think my all time favorite Duke movie is North to Alaska but he did do several around the WBTS. I have been catching bits and pieces of "The Horse Soldiers" from time to time this last week over on the westerns channel.

Part of the Horse Soldiers was filmed near here at Natchitoches. They have a street plaque (Kind of like the Hollywood walk of fame style) to Duke's honor there. William Holden, his co-star refused to stay in Natchitoches and insisted in sleeping on Alexandria. Thus he got no plaque from the good people of Natchitoches.

P.S.-__ to really see Duke at his worse check out "The Conquerer". Duke plays Genghis Kahn, no joke LOL! I gave him a pass on his accent while playing one of the Roman Soldiers who carried out the excecution of Christ in "The Greatest Story Ever Told".

How about those old John Ford movies. Can you remember Victor McLaglen, as the U.S. Cavalry seargent in Fort Apache (If I remember correctly) when he learned he had one of N.B. Forrest's former troopers as a new recruit? I'll have to watch it again to remember the line but it referred to Forrest's troopers as the best in the business. You won't see that kind of scene in the movies anymore.
