I too never gave much weight to the idea of Stanton's involvment with the assisination of Lincoln but I am seriously seeing Stanton in new light. It would have served him right if Gen. Sherman would have put him over his knee and skint his rear. I'll look into your book suggestion but will have to wait a while. I've spent my limit on books for a while. Bought "To Die in Chicago" yesterday. It is advertised as having forty four pages of pics. I really like to view old pics.
