My family ancestors were neighbors of Newt's (well they were the next family on the census list which meant they were nearby) in Jones County. I have Newts son's history of the events, the book is so old the paper is crumbling like its burnt; and another history written by a pretty good historian that covers the Confederate side of events very well.
