Re: Medal of Honor
In Response To: Medal of Honor ()

Recently I took on the project of researching all the Holcomb-e WBTS soldiers (180)

Daniel Irving Holcomb
Co A 41st Ohio Inf.
On Dec. 16 1864 in action at Brentwood Hills, Tn. for capture of a Confederate guidon was awarded the Medal Of Honor.

Jasper Holcombe, my great-grandfather
Co. E 7th Alabama Regiment
Captured near Nashville, Tn. (Brentwood Hills, Tn.)
Dec. 16, 1864
Received at Mill Prison, Louisville, Ky. Dec. 21, 1864
Transfered to Camp Douglas, IL. same date
Paroled there, June 19, 1865

Small world, wonder if they met that day,
Ken Holcombe
