"That is a classic Apology, a defense of wrong doing"

Nope. Sorry it's a mere statement of fact. George brought up the return of Tennessee and Mississippi to the Union. I replied on that subject and you replied to me. Since then I have kept my remarks to the subject of Tennessee before and during reconstruction. You have meanwhile brought in.. the war of Northern Aggression as you call it... Blacks learning how to read ...Yankees... calling people who do not agree with your viewpoint..Traitors.

Once again. If my statements are wrong on when Tennessee returned to the Union and the fact that they were not under military control by the Federal Government are wrong, please show me and I will admit my error. However I leave teaching black slaves to read and calling others traitors to your area of expertise. Oh and yes I have never know any area where a war was fought that did not leave widespread devastation. Loss that not only affected descendants of Confederate soldiers in the South but those who had favored the Union. A much larger percentage of that population than most know. I guess they would be part of that ignorant group you were speaking of? Loyalist in TN. suffered more for that United States than any Northern State, but they were left to hang in the concern that the Federal Government had for the black population and soon forgotten.
