The lightning was probably so close the sound didn't register in your ears. The most amazing lightning demonstration I ever saw was in the Arizona desert. I saw a fast draw exhibit the other day by Bob Munden. Not only is he fast, he's accurate, using a Colt Single Action Army. They tied electronic sensors to his arm. At the point of his draw he was exerting TEN Gs with his arm. They set up two balloons six feet apart. When he fired, it sounded like one shot! But when played in slow motion, you could see him draw, fire, aim at the second balloon, and fire again, all in hundreths of a second! He fanned the hammer for the second shot. Amazing. Stan
