Leonidas K. Polk

I was reading an old magazine again last night and there was an advertisemnt for a set of commemorative plates featuring what they called the "Christian Generals of the Confederacy". Lee, Jackson and Stuart. I often see mention of something similar to this and similar items and/or books. Yet our beloved Bishop-Militant from Louisiana, Leonidas K. Polk, is never mentioned, or it seems to me. I wonder why.

I realize Ft. Polk is named in his honor and I know about the University of the South etc. but I'm curious as to why he seems to be forgotten by most of the mainstrean Confederate community (If there be such a thing). When was the last time you saw a T-shirt that said something like "Ride like you rode with Polk"?

The man deserves to be remembered.
