That's when my great uncle, Francis (Frank) Boring was wounded; May 8 1864. He took a Minie' ball in the left shoulder. It broke his shoulder blade and ranged downward, coming out near his spine. He was at home in Georgia recuperating when he was captured at Roswell, July 11 1864. He was sent to Camp Douglas and paroled june 26, 1865. He said on his pension application the exposure he suffered there caused his rheumatism. Each year the explanation on the annual appliction got shorter, until 1924, when his widow said, "He went to the war and it killed him." She got his pension, and died later that year. He's buried in a small church graveyard on Wade Green Road, in Kennesaw. Stan
