Thanks Jamie. Every once in a while some little reality moment hits and it reminds me of why I'm the oddball in the family. I deal in the past. They deal in the present and they seem to take a lot of time trying to be happy. I'm as happy as a kid at Christmas to see my BFF find this physical connection to an ancestor many of her family forgot. I know, because we are all here a lot, there's more like me than I thought years ago.
I feel so badly for that lady in South Carolina who is getting so much press and grief because she displays the Battle Flag. We know the heritage answer is the right one. We have to really work hard and try to find those in the next generation who might pick up that little torch to keep our heritage from being buried or even worse, destroyed. It's getting to be like a full time job.
