Re: Civil War still divides Nation.

[“The article outlines the debate as being 'Slavery vs States Rights', and wonders why anyone would still defend the practise of slavery. But the real debate was not slavery, it was really just 'States Rights'. To get rid of Slavery the federal Government deminished the rights of states to direct their own destiny and placed the states in a subserviant role to that federal Government. And that is the reason we still refight that cause and that War in the halls of debate.”] Edward

I agree Edward and if anyone has a real problem trying to figure that point out, they need to look at the current news. It should be easy if they look at Arizona and the ‘Illegal’’ issue that the Federal level seems to have put on the back burner for the last 50 or 60 years. The truth is, they do not want to hear about anything but slavery. It will never be recognized as anything else because to take slavery out of the equation or add another reason with it, the ‘poor, pitiful us’ argument loses steam and they need all the steam they can get at this time.
The reason this anniversary is getting more negative press is because the negative press outlines only one issue. ‘They’ love it. They’re eating it up right now and for a darn good reason, if you are one of ‘them’. It will be ramped up in the next couple of months too. Then, watch out. ‘They’ have already started the ‘talk’ and they will begin the ‘walk’ toward reparations. It’s coming and God help us if we did not elect the proper person to represent our interest. I have my own answer for the ‘reparation’ theory but that’s for another board.

While we wish to see our heritage celebrated with the dignity ‘we’ feel it deserves, they want to use the occasion to further their agenda. It already began when way back, Van Jones was giving ‘props’ to the Indians. Slick Willy isn’t quite as Slick as this bunch. He got caught. Watch out for SEIU to be a bigger force during the nest few months as we attempt to educate others on the real deal.

The only ‘good’ thing I can find in the situation is that just maybe, that iffy word, some of our own will become more informed and not just sit back and follow the sheep to the money laundering rooms. (House and Senate). We can hope for it but I’m not going to hold my breath.
