Re: Ah, my relatives...can't trust my in-laws.

Well hmmm, he was "notorious". That's quite an honor. It does seem they didn't think he'd fit into the 'trustee' program. That's a good thing. If Campbell was all that "notorious" he must have been a lot like, well, gotta say it cause it's just there-----Rhett Butler. Too cool!!

I don't know who that Watts was. Hubby's were from Alabama and they lived on the Fl/Al border around Jay, Pine Barren and Flomaton for the most part after the work in Frisco City played out. A number of them are buried in Bratt and Byrneville cemeteries. Hubby had a great Uncle named Hardee Watts who was quite a skilled brickmason up there. I figured out why he had that first name. The rest of his family had no idea. It is this line that connect him to the Stacey, Nolan, Waggoner and Stiggens lines. All were pretty well represented in the Confederate ranks.

There was a Watts line from 'old' Pensacola but I've not found any connection to hubby's Watts line but they do connect to one of his maternal lines. Strange but true. They came by ship and one was the lighthouse keeper ,I think, around the mid 1800's.
